The Tree

Look at the tree. There are many branches that emerge from the same trunk. Yet the tree is a whole. Each branch contributes to the tree by supporting smaller branches, providing fruit and growing leaves. Each branch also relies on the tree as a whole to receive water and nutrients amongst other things. Some branches grow higher, some receive more sunlight, and some bear more fruit than others. Although each are a part of the same life giving organism, not all have an equal experience. Furthermore, conditions are in constant flux. A branch may be receive little sun in the morning yet gain more light as the sun rises. Even though a branch may start off low on the tree, it may grow and someday become the tallest branch. And a branch producing much fruit one year may be cut off entirely the following year.
